FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method, each phase of the electricity transmission line has its own phase selector. Recognition of the type of damage and damaged phases is carried out by determining the position of the vectors of characteristic values relative to the response characteristics of the phase selectors, specified in a multidimensional space in the form of hypersurfaces, bordering the sets of points with the coordinates of the vectors of characteristic values consistent with one or another type of damage and damaged phases. The arguments of the coordinates of the vectors of characteristic quantities are determined relative to the complex voltage amplitude of the positive sequence of the selector phase in order to fix the position of the response characteristics in space, ensuring their independence from the initial values of the arguments of the coordinate axes variables. Simulation modelling is a key stage in training the phase selector and is centred on building a set of response characteristics of its classifiers.
EFFECT: increase in the recognizing ability of the phase selector by distinguishing between different types of short circuits and identifying damaged phases.
