FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to biological means of protecting plants from rodents. Method for controlling rodents involves applying by spraying a rodenticide, which is a cultural liquid containing the bacterium Salmonella enteritidis, to plants, including seedlings of protected plants, a tree trunk and/or root zone of a trunk without adding any rodent baits. The bacterium for making the rodenticide is Salmonella enteritidis, var. Issatschenko, 29/1.
EFFECT: providing for plant protection as a result of year-round access of rodents to rodenticide, which is highly effective against rodents, reducing time and costs for the preparation of rodenticide.
