FIELD: production of paper, cardboard and paper-like materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a method for producing a cationic starch binder for intramass paper sizing. The method for producing a cationic binder according to the invention is carried out in a digester by simultaneously processing starch of natural moisture, a solution of a persulfuric acid salt with a consumption of 0.2-2.5% by weight of absolutely dry starch, a solution of a cationic polyelectrolyte with a consumption of 1.5-5.0% from the mass of absolutely dry starch and, if necessary, water, followed by continuous or intermittent cooking at a concentration of starch suspension in the range of 4-16% and a temperature of 95-130° C for 20-40 s for continuous brewing and 20-50 min for intermittent brewing, with further dilution with water to the required concentration.
EFFECT: obtaining, as well as easy and prompt control of the properties of the target product, ensuring its specified characteristics due to the possibility of quickly changing the controlled factors of the process: dry starch consumption, oxidizer consumption, water consumption, cooking temperature, cooking duration.
