FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aluminum metallurgy, in particular to universal refining fluxes used to remove Na, Li, Mg, Ca, aluminum oxide and electrolyte residues from primary aluminum used as a liquid charge for the preparation of deformable aluminum alloys. The flux contains, wt. %: sodium chloride 13-18; potassium chloride 17-22; potassium silicofluoride 15-25; a mixture of potassium cryolite and aluminum fluoride 35-55, and a mixture of potassium cryolite and aluminum fluoride with a cryolite ratio of 1.3-1.5 is used.
EFFECT: flux makes it possible to increase the degree of refining of aluminum from impurities, as well as to reduce the loss of metal with slag.
