FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves melting aluminium alloy waste containing lithium and magnesium under flux containing 30-60% magnesium fluoride, up to 5% lithium fluoride, the balance being sodium and aluminium fluorides, and producing lithium-containing component and aluminium-magnesium alloy. Melting is conducted at 800-900 C for at least 30 min, simultaneously mixing the alloy with inert gas. Aluminium-magnesium alloy is treated with flux containing sodium and aluminium fluorides in a molar relation of 0.8-2.0, producing aluminium and magnesium-containing salt component. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
