FIELD: nanotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: applicable to reduce the effect of mechanical action on the residual strength of products from a polymer composite material made by the infusion vacuum moulding. A method for producing a nanomodified thermoplastic binder. This method includes the introduction of carbon nanotubes into the composition of a thermoplastic binder to obtain a nanosuspension, ultrasonic treatment, and control of the viscosity of the nanosuspension. An epoxy infusion binder is used as a thermoplastic binder. Carbon nanotubes are added to the binder to obtain a mass concentration of nanotubes of 2-5%. Mechanical mixing of the nanosuspension is carried out, followed by a cycle which includes the addition of a binder, single or multiple pulsed ultrasonic action, limited by heating the nanosuspension to a temperature of 70°C with cooling after each exposure, and repeated until the maximum size of the nanocomponent agglomerations is no more than 1 mcm and a nanomodified thermoplastic binder with a viscosity of no more than 110% of the initial one is obtained.
EFFECT: obtaining a nanomodified thermoplastic binder with increased strength characteristics: tensile strength, ultimate strain, impact strength, as well as residual strength after impact and a reduction in the size of the damage area during mechanical action on PCM products along with their manufacture by infusion vacuum moulding.
