FIELD: electrical measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical measuring equipment and can be used in devices for diagnosing the condition of the insulation of the windings of power transformers without disconnecting them from the network. The values of the dielectric loss tangent and the absolute value of current leakage through the insulation for each of the primary and secondary windings of the power transformer separately are determined. These values determine the state of the insulation of the windings of the power transformer. To ensure continuity of control, the magnitude of the voltage applied to each of the windings of the power transformer and the magnitude of the currents flowing in and out of each winding of the power transformer is measured. The absolute value of the leakage current through the insulation of each winding of the power transformer is determined as a vector difference between the currents flowing in and flowing out of the windings. The tangent of the dielectric loss angle in each winding of the power transformer is determined as the tangent of the phase shift angle between the leakage current vector, which is the vector difference between the currents flowing in and flowing out of the windings, and the vector of the capacitive leakage current component through the insulation of the corresponding winding.

EFFECT: possibility of carrying out continuous monitoring during the operation of the transformer without disconnecting it from the network.
