SUBSTANCE: invention relates to voice input means. An electronic device for performing an application operation using a natural language understanding model includes: a storage device for storing at least one instruction and a processor for executing at least one instruction for receiving usage information for an application installed in an electronic device, receiving a natural language understanding model from a variety of natural language understanding models corresponding to the application, based on usage information, performing natural language understanding for user voice input, associated with the application, based on the fact that the natural language understanding model corresponds to the application, and performing the application operation based on a pre-formed understanding of the natural language. At the same time, the natural language understanding model corresponding to the application is received from an external server based on the number of application performances included in the usage information, or the execution time of the application.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of performing operations of applications of an electronic device based on voice input.
