SUBSTANCE: agriculture, in particular milking animals. A predicted finishing position is calculated for each animal currently on the platform at which the milking of that animal is predicted to be completed. The non-productive period is calculated for each animal currently on the platform, that’s the period during which this animal will remain on the platform from the predicted finishing position of it to one of the exit positions from the platform for this animal and the ideal finishing position for it. Calculate the total value of non-productive periods for the respective animals currently on the platform. The optimal angular speed of the platform is determined as the value of the angular speed of the platform, at which the final value of the sum of the non-productive periods of the corresponding animals currently on the platform is minimized. The device for operating the rotary milking platform contains a signal processor configured to calculate the optimal angular speed of the conveyor. Rotary milking platform contains a device for controlling the operation of conveyor.
EFFECT: maximization of the number of animals milked per unit of time.
