SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when extracting a packer from a well. The method for extracting a packer from a well includes lowering a catching tool on a string of pipes, followed by airtight locking onto the packer, preliminary injection of fluid under the packer at saturation pressure of the near-wellbore zone, increasing the pressure to a pressure not exceeding the allowable pressure on the production string and tensioning the tool. Preliminary analysis of the cores of the reservoir opened by the well located under the packer is carried out. Analysis of the cores of a formation penetrated by a well is carried out to select viscous fluid penetrating into the formation at saturation pressure to a depth of 1–3 m. Before the tool is lowered, the pipe string above the tool is equipped with a valve configured to pump air using a compressor from the annulus into the pipe string. Air is pumped into the annulus of the pipe string, squeezing out the liquid from the well space above the packer into the pipe string. Before the packer is released, when the tool is tensioned and the pressure rises below the packer, air is injected using the compressor from the wellhead into the annulus of the pipe string until pressure equal to the pressure below the packer is reached to compress it, followed by pressure release to cause a sharp pressure drop acting from the bottom to the top.
