SUBSTANCE: electronic communications device is configured to: establish a first cellular connection with the first cellular network based at least in part on control information received from the second cellular network; performing the first cellular communication with the first cellular network via the first cellular connection; based at least in part on determining that the display device of the electronic device has been in an inactive state for a reference period of time and that the throughput detected in the established first cellular connection state is below the reference throughput: establishing a second cellular connection with a second cellular network, and performing a second cellular communication with a second cellular network via the second cellular connection; and disconnecting the first cellular connection to the first cellular network.

EFFECT: reduction of the power consumption of the electronic device due to wireless communication in the electronic device.
