FIELD: pipeline transport.
SUBSTANCE: method for preventing pressure pulsations in technological pipelines relating to pipeline transport and possible to be used in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing technological pipelines. The method consists in determining the geometric parameters of the pipeline system, the flow rate of the pumped medium in the main lines, the type, pressure and temperature of the pumped medium, the maximum amplitudes of pressure pulsations in the pipeline system for given variants of the geometric parameters of the pipeline system based on data on the type of the pumped medium, pressure, temperature, flow rate of the pumped medium, determining safe geometric parameters of the pipeline system, wherein the values of the maximum amplitudes of pressure pulsations with the safety factor applied, do not exceed the specified criterial values, assigning and implementing corrective measures to bring the geometric parameters of the system to safe values: changing the lengths and/or diameters of nonflow sections and/or distances between them along main lines and/or diameters of main lines.
EFFECT: preventing unacceptable pressure pulsations and vibrations caused by self-sustained oscillating processes in nonflow sections of pipeline systems.
