FIELD: 3GPP communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods, devices in communication systems such as 3GPP communication systems. According to the proposed solution, a user equipment (UE) includes a receiver that receives PoSS power saving signals from a serving base station during operation. The processing circuit at the UE side during operation monitors the PoSS reception to determine the behavior of the UE regarding the processing of the physical downlink control channel PDCCH. The PoSS includes a behavior indicator indicating to the UE whether to follow the first behavior or the second behavior, and a configuration indicator indicating at least one configuration parameter associated with the first or second behavior. The processing circuit decides to perform PDCCH monitoring if the first behavior is indicated and to skip PDCCH monitoring if the second behavior is indicated, and accordingly applies at least one configuration parameter.
EFFECT: reduction of the cost of PDCCH monitoring.
