FIELD: forest reclamation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical methods for removing unwanted coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs. The removal method includes periodic mechanical removal of unwanted tree and shrub vegetation from forest plantations along with the root system and processing each instance of unwanted tree and shrub vegetation into chips. Before removing unwanted trees and shrubs with a frequency of 3-5 days, the soil moisture of forest plantations is monitored, and the removal of unwanted trees and shrubs is carried out at a soil moisture of 50-70%. When soil moisture is less than 50%, natural or artificial irrigation of forest plantations is expected, and when soil moisture is more than 70%, with a frequency of 3-5 days, further monitoring of soil moisture in forest plantations is carried out, waiting for a decrease in soil moisture. Before processing the removed unwanted tree and shrub vegetation into chips, the soil is shaken off its root system. The time between the removal of unwanted tree and shrub vegetation and its processing into chips is 1-3 minutes.
EFFECT: quality of silvicultural care for forest crops is being improved.
