FIELD: applied geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for remote detection and location of sources of electromagnetic geophysical disturbances moving in the water layer. Electromagnetic geophysical disturbances generated by surface waves in the soil, which are excited as a result of the movement of a moving source, are received and simultaneously registered. A measuring complex is used, containing at least two receiving points, organized from at least three electromagnetic vector meters each. By the ratio of the horizontal components of the electric and magnetic fields of identical electromagnetic geophysical disturbances on each electromagnetic vector meter and by time shifts between identical electromagnetic geophysical disturbances, the positions of the desired sources moving in the water layer are determined.
EFFECT: providing the possibility to search at large distances with a high degree of probability for a source moving in the water layer and distinguish it from the background of surface and stationary sources.
