FIELD: production of alumina.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to control the particle size distribution of aluminium hydroxide during decomposition of aluminate solutions. The control method is carried out in a battery of series-connected devices, equipped with devices for classifying the production pulp into coarse and fine fractions according to the size of solid particles in the pulp. The following decomposition process parameters are measured: aluminate solution consumption and seed pulp consumption, seed pulp temperature in head and tail decomposers, chemical composition of aluminate solution, content of particles of a given class in production hydroxide. The following values determined by the mathematical model are set under control: consumption of aluminate solution and seed pulp, seed pulp temperature in the head and tail decomposers, and they are controlled within the set values.
EFFECT: improvement of the quality of production aluminium hydroxide and oxide, productivity of enterprise by stabilizing the size of aluminium hydroxide particles, crystallized during the decomposition of the aluminate solution.
