SUBSTANCE: embossing device uses an electromagnetic induction device (19, 20) to induce an eddy current predominantly on the outer surface of the embossing roller (4, 5). The swirling currents are such as to preferentially heat the outer surface of the embossing roller. There is a machine stopping unit configured to move the pressure roll away from the embossing roll while maintaining the rotation of the embossing roll at a low rotation speed so that the paper layers can be rubbed against the outer surface of the embossing roll without breaking.
EFFECT: improvement in methods and devices for heating embossing rollers capable of producing multilayer cellulosic web materials.
