SUBSTANCE: invention is related to methods for measuring the frequency dependence of phase velocities of in-phase and anti-phase waves in coupled lines. A method is proposed for single-position measurement of the frequency dependence of phase velocities of normal waves in coupled lines with unbalanced electromagnetic coupling, which uses the resonances of a strip conductor and determines the resonant frequencies of a section of coupled lines, in which the first strip is current-carrying and connected between the input and output of the test object, and the second strip is connected to the current-carrying strip and is under a floating potential with idle operation boundary conditions at both ends, the frequency characteristics of the connected line section are calculated, the calculated resonant frequencies corresponding to the minimum of the section transfer coefficient fi calc are determined, then the experimental frequency dependence of the transfer coefficient is measured, and the experimental values of the resonant frequencies fi exp are determined. In case of mismatch of fi exp and fi calc the primary parameters are changed using a capacitance matrix C and an inductance matrix L until fi exp and fi calc match within a given margin of error. Then, using the corrected matrices C and L, the effective permittivities and phase velocities of in-phase and anti-phase waves are calculated.

EFFECT: expansion of the frequency range for single-position measurement of the phase velocities of in-phase and anti-phase waves in coupled lines with unbalanced electromagnetic coupling.
