FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: calcining sulfide concentrates in a fluidized bed furnace with complete removal of sulfur. The method includes controlling the temperature in the fluidized bed by affecting the loading of the concentrate, supplying oxygen-containing gas under the bottom of the fluidized-bed furnace, stabilizing the flow of oxygen-containing gas at a level that ensures stable boiling of the zinc calcine layer, measuring the oxygen concentration in the gases at the outlet of the furnace, and adjusting the ratio of the concentrate with oxygen by supplying additional oxygen to the oxygen-containing gas stream. Therein, the oxygen consumption in the exhaust gases from the furnace is maintained at a level of 2-3%.

EFFECT: increasing the productivity of the furnace and the quality of the finished calcining products.
