FIELD: electrical machining.
SUBSTANCE: electrical discharge machining of fuel equipment parts used for machining guide holes in fuel injector nozzle bodies of internal combustion engines. Method includes rotation of atomizer housing workpiece on a mandrel, reciprocating movement of the tool electrode along the axis of the hole being machined and radial feed, measuring the radius of the hole being machined relative to the axis of rotation with a measuring tip connected to the control unit, applying voltage pulses to the tool electrode and stabilizing the current in the interelectrode gap by changing the speed of the radial feed of the tool electrode. During processing, the consumption of the electrode-tool is constantly measured and, taking into account the measured actual consumption of the electrode tool during processing, the amount of material removal and the end of electrical erosive processing are calculated, while determining the difference in time between the moments of termination of processing upon reaching the specified consumption of the electrode tool and upon reaching the specified duration of processing, which is used to diagnose the condition of the equipment.
EFFECT: obtaining an additional tool for monitoring and diagnosing the condition of the equipment, preventing inappropriate parts from entering the following operations.
