SUBSTANCE: present invention discloses a forklift steering system and a method for controlling the same, a forklift and a vehicle controller. The group of inventions relates to a system and method for controlling the course of a forklift. The system comprises: engine, generator, controller and drive mechanism. The generator transmits electrical energy to the drive mechanism. The generator is connected to the engine through the input shaft. The controller controls the electrical connections of the accelerator pedal and the selector switch. The drive mechanism includes a traction motor and a gearbox. The gearbox is connected to the output shaft of the traction motor. The generator is electrically connected to the traction motor through the controller. The controller controls the power output of the traction motor according to the accelerator pedal angle signal. The controller controls the motor to run within the specified rotational speed range according to the input of the selector switch. The controller includes: central controller, generator controller and traction motor controller. The central controller is connected to the engine ECU by a communication connection. The generator controller is connected to the central controller by a communication link. The generator controller is electrically connected to the generator. The traction motor controller is connected to the central controller by a communication connection. The traction motor controller is electrically connected to the traction motor.
