FIELD: road construction.

SUBSTANCE: modification of road oil bitumen and a method for its production used in road construction during manufacture of asphalt concrete surfacing. The modified bitumen contains oil road bitumen, modifier polymers, a plasticizer, a modifying additive, a cross-linking agent. At the same time, a combination of linear and radial thermoplastic elastomers is used as modifier polymers, and a crosslinking agent is introduced into a mixture of road oil bitumen, modifier polymers, a plasticizer and modifying additive after cavitation treatment of the specified mixture in the following ratio of components to bitumen mass, wt.%: modifier polymers 1-5.5, plasticizer 0-20, modifier 0.1-0.3, cross-linking agent 0.05-0.2, road oil bitumen - the rest. The method for obtaining this modified bitumen includes the following stages: oil road bitumen is heated during mixing, a plasticizer is added, a modifying additive is added to the heated oil road bitumen during mixing, modifier polymers are added to the mixture, cavitation treatment of the resulting mixture is carried out and added to cavitation treated mixture with a crosslinking agent during mixing.

EFFECT: increasing the temperature range from -48 to 82°C, in which the modified bitumen has elastic and plastic properties, in improving the adhesive properties of the modified bitumen to the mineral components contained in asphalt concrete.
