METHOD OF PRODUCING A POLYMER-BITUMEN BINDER CONCENTRATE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C08L95/00 C08L9/06 B29C48/04 B29B9/16 C04B26/26

Abstract RU 2718808 C1

FIELD: production technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of bitumen-polymer compositions used in road construction. Disclosed is a method of producing a concentrate of polymer-bitumen binder, which includes dosing initial raw material, mixing and homogenization, granulating mixture on extruder, granulation of powders, their sieving and packaging, wherein the starting material includes a thermoplastic elastomer based on block copolymers of butadiene and styrene of a linear and/or radial type, a plasticizing component and an oil bitumen. Feedstock is mixed for not more than 6 minutes at temperature not higher than 90 °C until formation of homogeneous medium. Further, the obtained mixture is shaped into a strip or a bundle fed to an extruder for subsequent granulation on a granules end cutting device, which is a granulating device. Said extruder is equipped with cooling system of all working zones of extruder, and is also configured to maintain preset temperature of granulating device, at that during pellets cutting mineral powder is supplied to granulating device to prevent granules sticking together. Further, the granules are transported to a vibration screen where the stuck granules are screened.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of productivity of polymer-bitumen binder concentrate due to reduction of production cycle with simultaneous increase of storage life of concentrate.
