FIELD: processing irradiated nuclear fuel.

SUBSTANCE: methods for ensuring the efficiency of extraction and crystallization technological processes for processing irradiated nuclear fuel. Method for determining the density of a liquid includes thermostating the pycnometer with the test liquid at a given temperature, weighing the pycnometer with the test liquid. The volume of the test liquid with a given temperature in the pycnometer is brought to the mark by removing or adding the test liquid at the same temperature, the pycnometer with the test liquid is brought to room temperature, weighed, and the density of the test liquid is determined by the difference with the mass at room temperature of the pycnometer, dividing the resulting difference by pycnometer volume. The pycnometer with the test liquid is thermostated in the temperature range from 0°C to 80°С.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of weighing pycnometers with the test liquid at room temperature, increasing the temperature interval in which the density of the test liquid is determined, from 0°C to 80°C.
