DIGITAL SIGNAL-TO-NOISE RATIO METER WITH PHASE SHIFT KEYING Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01R29/26

Abstract RU 2799234 C1

FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used in discrete information transmission systems to determine the signal-to-noise ratio and assessing the quality of a communication channel with phase shift keying. The well-known digital signal-to-noise ratio meter comprising an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), a clock generator, a shift register of multi-bit codes for four samples, the first and second channels of quadrature processing (QPC), each of which comprises a subtractor and serially connected sample processing units (SPUs), whereas the number of SPUs (n) is determined by the binary logarithm of the number of processed signal periods, and each of the SPUs consists of a shift register of multi-bit codes and an adder, additionally comprises a quadratic converter, a functional converter, a multi-bit shift register for N=2n counts, a variance calculator, and a results generator.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measuring the signal-to-noise ratio and a weakening of the influence of the instability of the parameters of the receiving-transmitting equipment on it.
