FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: chilled crystallizer is proposed for crystallizing sugar from a massecuite in a vertically oriented container, having an inlet on the upper side for supply and an outlet on the lower side for removing the massecuite, with cooling sections located at a vertical distance from each other. Moreover, a liquid heat carrier flows through the cooling sections, and they are connected to a heat exchanger to remove heat from the massecuite. At least two cooling sections are combined into one cooling package, which are designed as separate cooling circuits with separate heat exchangers.
EFFECT: invention is effective in its implementation.
