FIELD: smoking products.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to filter materials and/or mouthpiece filler material for use with smoking products. In the process, a solution of cellulose acetate having an acetyl number of at least 53% in acetone is forced through a spinning machine having a plurality of holes. The cellulose acetate filamentary fibres are then cut into cellulose acetate staple fibres as needed, and the plurality of cellulose acetate filamentous fibres and/or cellulose acetate staple fibres thus obtained are collected into a filter tow, optionally crimped depending on the requirements. The spinning machine is designed so that the hollow cellulose acetate fibres are twisted, while the hollow area in the filter and/or filler material - with respect to the cross section orthogonal to the fibres of the filter and/or filler material - is 25-90%, and preferably 50-80% . The fibre diameter of the cellulose acetate filamentous fibres is in the range between 60-100 mcm.

EFFECT: possibility of regulation of draft resistance, filtration characteristics, cooling effect, hardness is ensured.
