SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for processing a particulate material flow through contact with a gas flow. Device (10) for processing the flow of material in the form of particles due to contact with the gas flow, containing a housing (12) forming a working chamber (18). This chamber (18) contains a gas distribution plate (30) with holes (32). The gas distribution plate (930) separates the lower gas pressure chamber (18) from the gas/solid contact area (22). The contact zone (22) has at least one cylindrical partition extending vertically upwards from the gas distribution plate, separating the inner section (36) from the adjacent annular outer section (38; 40). Said at least one baffle is provided with a bypass (50) for particulate material. The housing (12) also has an inlet (44) for supplying particulate material to the inner section (36) and an outlet (42) for discharging treated particulate material from the annular outer section (40).

EFFECT: improved use of the available reactor volume in a device for contacting gas and solid matter.
