FIELD: catalyst systems.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a catalyst for the dehydrogenation of an alkylaromatic hydrocarbon. The catalyst comprises a compound containing iron and potassium, wherein the compound containing iron and potassium consists of a K2Fe10O16 phase and a K2Fe22O34 phase. Moreover, the catalyst is obtained by a method including the following stages: 1) dry mixing the first part of the potassium source with the iron source, the cerium source, the molybdenum source, the calcium source and the blowing agent to form a catalyst precursor; 2) dissolving the second part of the potassium source in water and adding the catalyst precursor to obtain a fresh catalyst. The catalyst includes the following components in amounts indicated in mass percent: (a) from 65 to 80 Fe2O3; (b) 6 to 14 K2O; (c) 9 to 13.5 CeO2; (d) 0.5 to 5 MoO3 and (e) 0.2 to 5 CaO; and does not contain the free phase α-Fe2O3. In this case, the amount of K2O contained is the sum of the mass of the first part of the potassium source and the mass of the second part of the potassium source, which means the total mass of the required amount of the potassium source, and the mass of the first part of the potassium source is from 60 to 90% of the total mass of the required amount of the potassium source. The invention also relates to a method for producing a catalyst, to the use of a catalyst and to a method for the dehydrogenation of an alkylaromatic hydrocarbon.

EFFECT: overcome the technical difficulty associated with the insufficient activity of the catalyst in the prior art.
