SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a transition element for connecting a medical hollow body with a tension/compression measuring device, a testing system having a tension/compression measuring device and such a transition element, a method for testing the tightness of a medical hollow body using such a transition element, and using a tension/compression measuring device for testing the tightness of the medical hollow body. The transition element (9) for connecting the medical hollow body (11) with the tension/compression measuring device (3), which has an installation body (5) and an active end (7) displaced relative to the installation body (5) in the axial direction, has a first connecting end (13), which is intended for fluid-tight connection of the transition element (9) with the inner region (15) of the medical hollow body (11), the second connecting end (17), which has a pressure chamber (19) and is intended for active connection a transition element (9) with an active end (7) of the tension/compression measuring device (3), so that the pressure in the pressure chamber (19) can be adjusted by means of the tension/compression measuring device (3). The hollow channel (21) penetrates the transition element (9) from the pressure chamber (19) to the first connecting end (13).

EFFECT: providing the possibility to carry out leak tests by means of devices/instruments that allow other uses in the development and/or testing of medical hollow bodies, and achieving the highest possible degree of automation of such leak tests.
