SUBSTANCE: computing device configured to implement a virtualized packet gateway in a cloud computing environment to process data plane network packets for a cellular network, wherein the computing device comprises at least one processor and a memory device, the memory device stores computer-executable instructions that, when they are executed by at least one processor, instructs the computing device to perform operations comprising: receiving the entire copy of the external key/value store; storing the entire copy of the external key/value store in the local cache; receiving data plane network packets from the load balancer; and processing, by the virtualized packet gateway, the data plane network packets, which processing comprises identifying channels associated with the data plane network packets in a local cache.
EFFECT: improving the distribution of computing resources of cellular network components in a cloud environment.
