FIELD: coke industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates namely the production of metallurgical coke, a method for its production, as well as an additive to the charge for the production of metallurgical coke. The oil additive includes a product of processing heavy oil residues, with a content, wt.%: total carbon - 85-98, sulphur - no more than 5, volatile substances - no less than 50, ash - no more than 1.5. At the same time, the oil additive has a content of insoluble substances in toluene (α ) 5-40 wt.%, the content of insoluble substances in quinoline (α 1 ) 0.5-20 wt.%, while (α )/(α 1 )>1 and the ring-and-ball softening temperature of 80-200°C, ring-and-rod softening temperature of 70-180°C, and the difference between the ring-and-ball softening temperature and ring-and-rod softening temperature is in the range from 4 to 20°C. Also proposed are the use of an oil additive, a metallurgical coke charge containing an oil additive, a method for producing metallurgical coke using an oil additive, and metallurgical coke obtained from a charge containing an oil additive.

EFFECT: developing a method for the production of metallurgical coke from a charge of a certain composition using an oil additive with an adjustable balance of characteristics necessary and sufficient to provide a high-quality product in the form of metallurgical coke.
