FIELD: wellbore isolation.

SUBSTANCE: device for isolating the wellbore comprises a mandrel, a system of sealing elements and a metal support ring. The mandrel includes a cylindrical main part with an outer surface and a central flow channel. The system of sealing elements is located around the mandrel and is configured for radial expansion from the first running diameter to the introduction into sealing engagement with the inner surface of the wellbore. The metal support ring is located on the mandrel and contacts with one side of the system of sealing elements with the initial height H and configured for radial expansion and axial deformation to adjoin the inner surface of the wellbore. The metal support ring has a concave cross-section around a mandrel supported up the wellbore and supported down the wellbore. The sealing element system is configured to expand radially into the sealing engagement due to the applied compression force. The metal support ring is configured for radial expansion and axial deformation for contact with the inner surface of the wellbore with a radial contact stress providing a sealing contact pressure.

EFFECT: increased reliability of wellbore isolation.
