FIELD: experimental aerodynamics.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns the design of non-diaphragm shock tubes of short action. The shock tube consists of a series-connected high-pressure chamber, a device for closing the channel in the form of a pneumatic valve with a cap movable due to the compressing air, and a low-pressure chamber. At the same time, a shaft with blades rigidly fixed on the shaft is introduced into the high-pressure chamber in the longitudinal direction. The pitch of the rows of blades exceeds the height of the blades. The shaft is mounted in bearings connected by spokes with shells placed inside the high-pressure chamber at its end and in front of the pneumatic valve. Moreover, the volume of the elements introduced into the high-pressure chamber should not exceed 15% of its volume with the maximum area of the blades in all rows.
EFFECT: effective increase in the working time of the shock tube at different initial pressures in the high-pressure chamber is achieved by slowing down the reflection of the rarefaction wave in the high-pressure chamber and its arrival at the end of the low-pressure chamber.
