FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to insulating anesthesiology breathing apparatus and a method of compensating for leaks in an isolating anesthetic breathing apparatus. The breathing apparatus comprises a movable partition with an actuation side on the first side of the movable partition and a patient side on the second side of the movable partition. The breathing apparatus includes a housing around a movable baffle with a ventilator opening for pneumatic connection between the ventilator and the actuation side, and an opening at the patient for pneumatic connection between the patient side and the patient. The breathing apparatus includes a shunt that defines the bypass flow path of the shunt from the actuation side to the patient side if the movable partition is maximally displaced towards the patient. The shunt is locked during normal operation and unlocked to allow fluid flow from the actuation side to the patient side when the patient side is maximally released and the movable septum is maximally displaced towards the patient side. The shunt includes a flow rate signal. The breathing apparatus includes a vaporizer located in the bypass flow path of the shunt. The method of compensating for leaks includes providing a SCBA with a movable gas flow baffle on the patient side of the SCBA in response to gas flow on the actuation side of the SCBA. The method of compensating for leaks includes providing a gas flow on the actuating side to move the movable baffle towards the patient's side, thereby causing gas flow from the patient's side. The method of compensating for leaks includes providing a bypass gas flow from the actuation side to the patient side, bypassing the movable baffle, if the movable baffle achieves maximum movement towards the patient side.
EFFECT: automatic compensation of leaks from the patient side of the self-contained breathing apparatus in order to provide enough time to delay the reaction on the part of the operator.
