FIELD: drying of compressed gas.
SUBSTANCE: drying device and a method for drying compressed gas are disclosed. The drying device has an inlet (7) and an outlet (8), at least two vessels (2) filled with a regenerated desiccant (3), and an adjustable valve system (4) consisting of the first and second valve blocks (5, 6), connecting the input (7) and, accordingly, the output (8) with the above-mentioned vessels (2). The valve system (4) is controlled in such a way that one vessel (2) will dry the compressed gas while the other vessel (2) is successively regenerated and cooled. The method includes the first and second cooling cycles, where the first cooling cycle consists of directing ambient air through the refrigerated vessel (2) and the second cooling cycle consists of branching, expanding and directing the dried compressed gas through the outlet (8) for branching and subsequent releasing it through the refrigerated vessel (2) using either the first or second refrigeration cycle, or both cycles, depending on the given conditions.
EFFECT: increase of efficiency of gas drying.
