FIELD: electric lighting.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to the control of light sources using electrical circuits and can be implemented using light sources of various physical nature, for example, LED modules, or discharge lamps with a throttle limitation of the amplitude of periodic operating current pulses. In the method of controlling light sources, using as light sources, for example, LED modules in the amount of N, using the setting through each light source of working current pulses with a duration τ, with a repetition period of working pulses of duration T and a phase shift between the mentioned working pulses of currents through light sources flowing under the action of a switched DC voltage. The phase shift between the working current pulses through the light sources is set in time equal to the value ϕ =T/N. The nominal values of the parameters of the control currents of each of the N light sources are set by passing its operating current pulses through one of the N chokes, each of which is connected in series with one of the N mentioned light sources, and providing pulse-width control of the duration τ of working current pulses through each of the N light sources according to the feedback signal from the current sensor connected in series with the adjustable light source and the choke connected to it. The reactive current of each of the N chokes in the pause (T-τ) between working current pulses is passed through one of N light sources connected to the said inductor.

EFFECT: improving the quality of lighting and eliminating the occurrence of the stroboscopic effect by reducing the pulsation of the total light flux.
