FIELD: computer technology.
SUBSTANCE: used in systems for digital processing of analog information. To do this, an analog-to-digital conversion of sequential counting is carried out with an intermediate conversion into a time interval in which the encoding process is divided into a number of stages, each implemented in its own stage, which ensures the sequential, starting from the most significant, formation of groups of bits of the output code, the sign of the increments of the balancing signal during the transition from one stage to the next changes to the opposite. When the sign of the mismatch between the converted and balancing signals changes, the counting of clock pulses by the corresponding counter stage stops. The output code of the converter is taken from the direct outputs of the counter sections of the odd steps of the converter and the inverse outputs of the sections of even steps.
EFFECT: improved metering accuracy.
