FIELD: medical dressings.
SUBSTANCE: breathable adhesive bandage contains a base layer containing wool with wool fibers, including an outer surface opposite the base layer, and an adhesive layer applied to the base layer. Wool fibers have a thickness of 13 to 25 microns. The base layer has a weight of 33.9 to 508.6 g/m2. The outer surface is a brushed outer surface formed by brushing the outer surface after forming the base layer to impart additional thickness and padding or softening to the base layer. The adhesive layer is applied to the base layer in the form of a discontinuous pattern and covers from 40 to 70% of the base layer. Variants of a breathable adhesive bandage are disclosed.
EFFECT: providing an improved adhesive bandage.
