FIELD: drilling.
SUBSTANCE: bench equipment for studying the cutting resistance of rocks, in particular when drilling wells in the ice sheets of Antarctica and Greenland. The technical result is achieved due to the ability to determine, on a bench for studying the cutting resistance of rocks, the optimal geometry of a rock-cutting tool designed for a specific rock, the core of which is tested on the stand. The operation of the stand simulates the cutting process during rotary drilling, which is ensured by the use of a high-speed ball screw, a servomotor with high torque and a cyclone catching unit in the design. The reliability of the experimental results is ensured by the possibility of multiple tests of the same rock sample due to the mechanism of its transverse movement relative to the cutter.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of drilling easily drillable rocks.
