SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the validity of a facial feature and an electronic device. The method includes: determining position information and/or face change information based on a face feature of a first video image, where the position information is used to represent the deviation of a person's head indicated by the face feature in the first video image, the face change information is used to represent a change state the position of a person's head in the first video image and the second video image, and the second video image is an image frame preceding the first video image in the video stream to which the first video image relates; and determining whether the face feature is an invalid feature based on the position information and/or the face change information, and further determining whether to perform 3D reconstruction processing on the person's face in the first video image.

EFFECT: simplifying the three-dimensional reconstruction of a face in a video image due to the preliminary analysis of a facial feature to determine the possibility of its use in reconstruction.
