SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for surgical treatment of an old fracture of the odontoid process of the C2 cervical vertebra. Cloward access is performed. Through a point located in the middle of the anterior edge of the lower endplate of the C2 cervical vertebra, a Kirschner wire is passed into the apex of the odontoid process. Using a wire, a hollow milling cutter is used to form a channel through the vertebral body, the fracture zone, leading into the odontoid process. A bone autograft is installed into the formed canal. A Kirschner wire is passed through the middle of the anterior edge of the lower endplate of the C2 cervical vertebra towards the posterior edge of the apex of the odontoid process, through which a cannulated compression screw is inserted to the posterior edge of the apex of the odontoid process, compressing the fragments.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to ensure stability in the fracture zone, eliminate interposition of granulation and sclerotic bone tissue, and reduce the risk of infectious complications.
