FIELD: aircraft construction.
SUBSTANCE: on-board flight control and navigation equipment of aircraft in which the heading measurement system is the main navigation means. To determine the course of an aircraft according to this invention, the initial alignment of the gyroscopic heading system is carried out in flight according to the difference between the track angle determined by the satellite navigation system and the drift angle determined by the Doppler meter of the components of the aircraft's speed relative to the Earth's surface. After the initial alignment, the aircraft's course is determined by a signal from the gyroscopic heading system, which is integrated using a Kalman filter using signals from a Doppler meter for the components of the aircraft's speed relative to the Earth's surface, the air signal system and the satellite navigation system.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy and reliability of course determination in high latitudes, a reduction in the weight and size characteristics of on-board flight navigation equipment.
