FIELD: spacecraft.
SUBSTANCE: design of upper stages (US) for payloads (PL) launched into space. The proposed US of a modular structure includes a permanent (platform) and variable (adapted to the PL) part of the structure. The platform contains a propulsion system with shut-off and control valves, systems: orientation and stabilization, provision of thermal conditions, control and power supply, prediction and regulation of abnormal and emergency conditions. The variable part contains oxidizer and fuel tanks, a gas balloon-cylinder of the tank pressurization system, a power frame, a PL adapter, a device for separating and docking with the launch vehicle.
EFFECT: unification of a predominantly small-sized US in relation to the types of PL and their achievable target orbits, as well as in increasing its energy-mass perfection.
