FIELD: corrosion protection.
SUBSTANCE: protecting metals from corrosion using inhibitors used in the oil industry for acid treatment of drill wells, as well as for treating the bottomhole zone of oil and water injection wells. The use of N-(1,3-dithiolan-2-ylidene)-5-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine with the formula
as a corrosion inhibitor for St3 steel in the concentration range of 10-200 mg/l in a 15% aqueous solution of HCl at a temperature of 25°C is proposed.
EFFECT: new heterocyclic compound has been found that reduces the corrosion rate of low-carbon steel upon contact with metal equipment and has synthesis methods available for scaling, as well as expanding the range of compounds that slow down steel corrosion.
