SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining the mechanical characteristics of heat-resistant steels at high temperatures. A method for determining hot long-term hardness of samples made of heat-resistant steels, which are an element of a steam pipeline, in a test installation containing a frame, a lower traverse mounted on the frame, on which an object table is mounted for placing the test sample, a movable upper traverse, which is made with the possibility of vertical movement along the frame and which contains an indenter, and a heating furnace having a heating chamber, includes placing the sample on the object table, heating the sample in the heating chamber of the furnace to a given temperature and holding it for a given time when exposed to a given temperature, bringing the indenter into contact with the sample until it reaches a given temperature load and hold the sample for a given time under the influence of a given load, removing the load and moving the indenter away from the sample, repeating the specified stages of the method, each time changing the position of the sample on the object table, to obtain the required number of prints on the sample, processing the research results to obtain the hot value long-term hardness of the sample, while the indenter is brought into contact with the sample on the outer surface of the sample, and after each measurement the sample is placed on the object table in such a way that the minimum distance between the centers of two adjacent indents is at least 5 indent diameters.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurements.
