FIELD: high pressure hydrogen tank.
SUBSTANCE: high pressure hydrogen tank comprises a cylindrical body made of metal and designed to store hydrogen under high pressure; and a closing element that closes an end portion of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body includes a connection portion that provides fastening of the closing element to the end portion of the cylindrical body in a direction along the central axis of the cylindrical body. The tank contains a cylindrical section that forms an outer shell of the storage section, configured to store hydrogen under high pressure, and a sealing surface located between the connection section and the cylindrical section in the direction along the central axis and formed on the inner surface of the cylindrical body. The cover includes a sealing portion that is adjacent to the sealing surface of the cylindrical body, and a fixing portion that is attached to the connecting portion of the cylindrical body. The relation H < L is satisfied, and the section of the sealing surface that is adjacent to the sealing section is the contact section, while H is the thickness measured from the contact section to the outer surface of the cylindrical body. Moreover, a part of the cylindrical body, which includes the connection section and extends from the connection section to the contact section and in which a voltage is created that is greater than or equal to a predetermined voltage σ, is the voltage generation area, while L is the distance between the contact area and the voltage generation area.
EFFECT: reducing the occurrence of damage caused by the diffusion of hydrogen into the metal structure.
