FIELD: transportation; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is the use of a film polymer material of a proton-exchange membrane as a barrier layer in cylinders for transporting hydrogen or other liquefied gases. Said material is based on perfluorosulphonic acid polymers, which is produced by industry in the form of a rolled film polymer material with thickness of 0.1-1.0 mm. In order to implement the declared application of the film polymer material, a cylinder is developed, which is intended for use in the structure of vehicles or for filling vehicles. Film polymer material is applied on element of structural strength of cylinder by winding in several layers. Metal or polymer liner is used as element of structural strength of cylinder.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability, safety and ease of use of the cylinder by preventing or significantly reducing the risk of diffusion of hydrogen and other liquefied gases into the external environment.
