FIELD: medicine; endocrine surgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the volume of residual adrenal tissue after resection of pheochromocytoma. The patient undergoes a CT scan of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space, and downloads CT images in DICOM format. Then, using the U-net convolutional neural network, image segmentation, visualization, mask creation, calculation of the volume of the adrenal gland and tumour, image processing and subsequent calculation of the volume of residual adrenal tissue are carried out, taking into account the surgical margin of 3 mm. The determination of the residual volume of the adrenal glands is carried out according to the formula V=, where Psi is the number of pixels of the desired area on one CT slice, Ks is the distance between slices, Kp is a coefficient describing the scale of the CT image.
EFFECT: possibility of justifying the feasibility of organ-preserving intervention for pheochromocytoma and subsequent postoperative monitoring of residual adrenal tissue by determining the residual adrenal tissue.
