FIELD: medicine; dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in the treatment of caries at the filling stage after determining the thickness of the remaining dentin at the bottom of the formed cavity. Before starting the treatment, the viability of the pulp is determined using the edectroodontodiagnosis (EDD) method using the EndoEst-3D apparatus. Based on the survey data and objective examination, a preliminary diagnosis is formulated. The low-intensity laser radiation treatment stage was carried out using red and/or infrared radiation, depending on the form of deep caries. At values of 2.4–1.0 mm, the area of the bottom of the formed cavity is exposed for 2 minutes to constant laser radiation of the red spectrum, wavelength 635 nm, power 7–10 mW, followed by application of a self-etching adhesive system and filling using the layered restoration technique. If the value is less than 1 mm to the pulp chamber, alternate exposure for 2 minutes with a red and infrared laser of 890 nm is used, pulsed exposure with a power of 4–5 W, followed by application of a calcium-containing and insulating pad and permanent filling with a composite material.
EFFECT: due to the ability to classify patients depending on the depth of the lesion, the method allows for a rational choice of subsequent treatment using laser technologies, as well as applying the optimal filling algorithm as the final stage of treatment, which allows reducing the percentage of caries complications and preserving tooth function.
